Life’s Challenging Experiences

I personally believe each challenge we’ve ever had holds a divine gift. A lesson if you will. Each gift tucked inside these challenges bestows a life-changing power for the recipient. That is, if the recipient makes a conscious decision to extract the gift from said challenge.

Often life lessons present themselves in bleak times. That was especially true when I was nineteen and struggling to navigate a move to a new city, on my own and right out of high school. I had a strong desire for the move but much more resistance.

Did I mention I was also leaving a horrible job, a bad relationship and bumpy home life in the hopes of finding something better before I lined my energy up about it? Despite that, my desires felt like hope for a better life. My resistance however felt like fear, insecurity, chronic worry and severe doubt. To name a few.

Doubt. Rhymes with drought.

Because my fear-based thoughts had outweighed my hopes ten-to-one each hard-knock I was dealt felt like a near death experience. In a way it was. Each wave of pain that pummeled proved my existing beliefs true – that life was unfair. Which brought greater challenges.

I was in a vicious cycle. I could not attract anything good to me because I was a vibrational match to, you guessed it – all things bad. To make it worse, I was anxious that more horrible things were waiting in the wings. My imagination was habitually fearful, instead of seeing the metaphoric glass as half full.

At that time, I couldn’t see the half-full glass. My glass was empty. It wasn’t an empty glass. It was a ripped paper cup. A mangled shred of cup with a tire tread-mark across it, I found on the side of the road. Still, I grabbed it, cleaned it off and did my best to pretend it was real glass until I could eventually afford a glass of my own.

You know, because I’m a dreamer that way.

Looking back at my bumpy 20’s and 30’s, I can easy see how I missed out on wonderful things because of my negative beliefs. I was too broken to see the good in happy moments. Much less, see good woven inside of the hardships I attracted hand-over-fist.

Child please. I was so disconnected that I would’ve missed every cloud with a silver lining. Even if it was filled with a thousand angels singing back up to, It’s Raining Men with the Weather Girls. And that’s all while hundred-dollar bills rained from the heavens and onto my dense noggin. And that was back when I was dancing half-naked in a cage. For tips. Of course, I was so broke that I had to sew my own G-strings from scrap fabric that I collected from the floor of the textile mill I worked at full-time.

But, that’s another story for another time.

THE CHALLENGE TRANSFORMED

All of that was before I knew Brian Tracy’s teachings. “We do not see opportunities if we are convinced that there are no opportunities. We do not see possibilities for success if we don’t believe that success is possible for us. However, if we begin to change our beliefs,
we begin to change our realities.”

Perfectly stated, we cannot attract opportunities or success until we change our inner beliefs about having them.

Looking back, I realize that when things were good, I ignored what was working and instead, worried about surviving my workload, paying bills and hoping beyond hope that my junk-ass car didn’t die on the road between one of my three jobs – again.

I literally could not see the brilliant opportunities in front of my face because of my negative beliefs and contradicted thinking. My desires and my resistance were racing simultaneously, at top speed but, in polar-opposite directions.

Since I’ve been gliding along in my 50’s and 60’s for a minute now, I can say that every hour-on-the-hour my predominant go-to-thought is about appreciation. Which is a long shot from the whiny, sucky, bitchy, worry-wart version of me in my 20’s and 30’s. Just writing that out, I suddenly heard that vintage jingle from the, Virginia Slims commercial in my mind. “You’ve come a long way baby.” To which I say…

Why yes. Yes, I have.

And man, it feels great to be happily living life. A life that I retrained my mind and emotions to create from the law of attraction methods I began studying way back in the day. You know, when I believed that my life was a glorified shit show.

With that said; all of us crave pure connection with source energy. We work to cultivate our minds so that we might live each day aligned with our heart’s desires. Everyone wants to be on the receiving end of wellness. Internally vibrating happiness first is the fastest way to physically manifest it in real time. There is truth in, faking it until you make it. I had to learn to feel good about my life, long before my life gave me things to feel good about.

I’d like to share this powerful snippet from, “Four Realities…” It’s a great reminder just how much our emotions, good or bad can be our greatest teachers.

FOUR REALITES YOU MUST UNDERSTAND

  1. Anger is the part of yourself that loves you the most.
It knows when you are being mistreated, neglected or disrespected.
It signals that you must take a step out of a place that doesn’t do you any justice.
  2. Anything that annoys you is teaching you, patience.
Anyone who abandons you is teaching you how to be independent.
Anything that angers you is teaching you forgiveness.
Try to think of everything as a learning experience. That’s how you grow.
  3. A person in two months can make you feel what a person in two years couldn’t.
Time means nothing and character means everything.
  4. Accept people as they are, but place them where they belong.
You are the CEO of your life. Hire, fire and promote accordingly.

Again, this comes from, MindsetJourney00, on Instagram. I especially enjoyed how it resonated with navigating life’s challenges in new, more awakened ways.

THE DIVINE GIFT IN HARDSHIPS

I sincerely believe every challenge holds a divine gift. A lesson, if you will. Each gift bestows a life-changing power for the recipient. That is, if the recipient decides to mine the gift from said challenges.

While slowly reading each sentence from MindsetJourney00, it allowed me to look back at the golden nuggets of past lessons learned. I remembered things I’d long forgotten, but it was not the memories in-and-of-themselves. It felt as if the current-Me and the, just-starting-out-Me, from back in the day got to experience the joy of waking up to the fact that I/we create our own reality.

Which is what life is all about, right? Waking up and deliberately creating the best life possible; one thought and one feeling at a time. And knowing the lighter our thoughts are, the easier it is to get solid proof that the Universe is working for us and not against us.

I don’t know about you, but I love learning. I love expanding my consciousness. I love creating my reality on purpose. I especially love getting to share this kind of information with you and yours. And on that note dear friend, have a beautiful Spring and until we meet again, remember to keep your thoughts, feelings and frequencies high, fast and pure so that you can Unlock the Universe Within!.

With Love,

Eddie
